Prior to the release of my 2015 film “Deers,” I collaborated with the folks at the Here Be Monsters podcast to create an audio version of the story. Director Jeff Emtman and editor+producer Bethany Denton took the creative lead on the edit, resulting in a much darker take of the story. We released both versions at the same time, reveling in how clear a ‘documentarian’s’ influence on the tone of a story.
